Parent Information Section

Overview:

  • Included with the Professional Learning

  • Contains a presentation, speaking notes, and handout

The Parent Information section is designed to support families of children who are learning to regulate (tolerate and release) their emotions. When parents develop their own emotional regulation skills, it strengthens their child’s ability to succeed. Children learn by observing others, so adult modelling is essential.

School staff can use the speaking notes to guide conversations with parents and guardians about the strategies being taught in school and how to apply them at home. By supporting parents in using these strategies themselves, we extend student learning beyond the classroom and reinforce skill development through everyday interactions.
