EMDR Basic Training Refresher

Information About The Course

Dr Judy Moench is facilitating a one day review of the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Basic Training. Participants will be gently reminded of the 8 phases of treatment; the Adaptive Information Processing Model, treatment planning based on the standard protocol (Past, Present, Future) and much more. Have opportunities to practice, ask questions, and learn methods to assist when a client’s processing is blocked.

In the EMDR community you may have heard the words, protocol drift, meaning the therapist is no longer sticking to the protocol. EMDR is an evidence based practice validated in the literature using checklists to standardize the process. Might you be drifting? It happens to even the best therapists.

Consider refreshing your skills in a relaxed and comfortable learning environment.

Have time to mingle with colleagues, learn, and meet requirements for continuing competence!

Strengthen your skills and gain confidence!

Participants must have completed the Basic Training in EMDR.

We understand that staying healthy and safe is a major concern right now, and we are taking every precaution to ensure we can meet, learn, and practice safely. To this end, we have implemented several safety measures to protect all those who attend, including a daily COVID-19 screener, desks that are adequately distanced (6 feet minimum), and pre-packaged drinks and snacks.

We are monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation in Alberta and will continue to adhere to Alberta Health Services guidelines. If we decide it is not safe to meet in person by these training dates we will make alternate arrangements.
